San Diego Heart Walk, Sept. 15, 2007

As with the previous years, the 16th Annual Heart Walk was organized by the American Heart Association at Balboa Park, San Diego. This free event on September 15, 2007 was started at 7:00 AM in the lawn area across from the Zoo parking lot.

AstraZeneca Laboratories was the sponsor for the UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences students, pharmacists and health professionals who provided the Health Screenings services to the Walk participants: blood pressure measurements, blood glucose determinations and heart burn assessments. Free samples of heart burn over-the-counter medicines and brochures on the above diseases were distributed, along with advices on good health practices.
